As-tu vu Alphonse?

Datsit

Synopsis

As-tu vu Alphonse? tells the amazing story of the Shelbourne escape network, considered one of the most effective of World War II.

The perilous mission of Lucien Dumais and his partner Raymond Labrosse, two Quebec heroes who instigated the operation, involved recovering Allied airmen shot down over France and ensure that they were returned to England safe and sound.

Thanks to their daring scheme, 135 airmen who were stranded in occupied territory, including Americans, Brits and Canadians, were safely brought back to England.

The story of Dumais (a “superman” who measured only 5 feet, 2 inches!) is far from ordinary. Nicknamed the “magnificent undertaker,” this man succeeded in his risky mission by sometimes feigning burials using empty coffins, which German soldiers even saluted!

As-tu vu Alphonse? reveals previously unpublished details about the heroes of this great adventure, which has until now remained largely unknown.
